Members include university lecturers and researchers, and those involved in research and teacher education in a variety of settings. AULRE was formed from the merger of two long-established professional organisations: the Conferences of University Lecturers in Religious Education (CULRE), and the NATFHE Religious Studies Section. Whilst oriignally comprised of lecturers and those working in higher education, some years ago AULRE grew as an organisation to include other professionals in education and doctoral students recignsing a broader range of educators involved directly in the production of research and the role of scholarly education and development of teachers in practice |
