Monday 27 March 2023: 17.00-18.30
Speaker: Professor Vivienne Baumfield.
Vivienne is Professor of Professional Learning in the Graduate School of Education and co-leader of the Centre for Research in Professional Learning at the University of Exeter and Current President of the British Educational Research Association .
This important and up-to the minute webinar will be of interest to teachers and researchers alike who are interested in the intersection between RE practice and RE research. The webinar will give attendees the opportunity to be introduced to the Culham st Gabriels funded project into teachers engagement with research, as well as to the most recent findings from a follow-up piece of work that took place place earlier in March 2023.
Professor Vivienne Baumfield’s key interests lie in the interaction of research, policy and practice when university-based researchers work with practitioners in the creation and translation of knowledge across contexts. This interest is linked to the wider issue of understanding the relationship between theory and practice in professional learning and is grounded in a perspective derived from pragmatism. Her teaching and research examines international perspectives on the professional development of teachers and the impact of school-university partnerships as communities of pedagogical inquiry.
